Moishes Welcomes Innovative Photographer Stephane Cocke

In an ongoing effort to connect the art of authentic fine cuisine with the art of photography on Montreal’s streets, Moishes is proud to announce the arrival of a new exhibition of photos by Stephane Cocke. Juno award winner Cocke discovered his passion for photography in his teens. His portraits and architectural photos have been published in various international magazines and newspapers. He has exhibited work in solo and group shows in his hometown of Montreal. From one of his many journeys around the globe he self-published ’SAYARI ROOTS OF GYPSY’, a book about an indian gypsy family of entertainers in 2009. “Stéphane’s work is very new and interesting, “ explains Moishes owner Lenny Lighter, “everything included for this exhibition was shot on an iphone, and it looks beautiful. His subject is Montreal, but his approach is very fresh and innovative. We love that continuity.” The new series of photos by Stephane Cocke replaces an exhibition by Gabor Silazi which has hung in the gallery at Moishes since renovations were completed in May 2011. Moishes, voted one of the Top 10 steak houses in the World by Forbes magazine, has been a Montreal landmark for almost 75 years.

New Skin for fine wine

We're happy to announce a new format for our wine list. Lately we've been handing our customers an ipad when they want to browse our selection. It's a wonderful way to keep it updated, and is super easy to use. Let us know what you think - at almost 75 years of age, we like to believe it's never too late to be avant-guarde.
